The Centralia College Lady Blazers narrowly avoided a first round upset to Edmonds Community College picking up a 60-57 victory over the Tritons despite an 11 point halftime deficit.
Despite a rough first half the Centralia College Lady Blazers wrapped up their regular season by defeating Highline Community College 55-40 to clinch their third consecutive NWAACC Western Division title.
The Northwest Scientific Association’s 82nd annual meeting will be held at the college from March 24 to 27 in the New Science Center. This event is co-sponsored by Cascadia Prairie-Oak Partnership of the Ecoregional Science Conference and the Northwest Lichenologist
Mission IMPROVable is a collaboration of secret agents of comedy based out of Chicago and Los Angeles. Two agents arrived on campus to perform on March 4 in Wickstrom Theater.
BODIES is open in Seattle through March 28.It features real preserved human organs and muscular and skeletal structures across two levels of interesting, education-packed displays. The exhibit also houses specimens of the nervous, circulatory and digestive systems.
Plants in the George L. and Eugenia R. Moore Memorial Greenhouse are blooming. The Queen’s Orchid, a plant with magenta flowers, is flaunting its colors for the first time in recent memory.
“I have been here ten years, and this is the first time I’ve seen them bloom,” said Laboratory Technician Suzanne Hostetter.
Beyond Parallax is an organization focused on creative writing, and has a 15-year history of publishing the college’s student literary and visual arts journal. This year marks the first year in the club’s long history that the journal will not be published.
“We try to discover some unique little twists in travelling,” said Spanish Professor Laura Yocom. “These are really remote areas. It’s all part of the fun.”
