The Centralia College men's baseball team ended the season on a positive note as they split both of their double headers over the weekend.

Blazers 3, Gators 2

Centralia got another strong pitching performance out of team ERA leader Trevor Harmon as he picked up the win in a 3-2 victory for the Blazers in the first game of the double header on Saturday May 9.

Harmon would end up pitching six and a third innings of fine baseball as he allowed only two runs in that span before he would hand it over to the bullpen for the day.

Alex Anderson would pitch the ninth inning for his first save for the year.

The Blazers got off to a hot start as they took a 3-0 lead heading into the fourth inning. Green River would show no quit as they added on a run in the six and seventh innings.

That would be all Green River would get as the relief pitchers put the clamp on the Gators.

The game was tight in all aspects as the Blazers would narrowly out-hit the Gators by the margin of 6-5.

Taylor Miller led the way for the Blazers with two hits.

Blazers 3, Gators 16

In the second game of double header the game looked to be a close game like the opening game but things would change as Green River scored late to blow the game away from the Blazers.

In this game it was just a matter of time until the Gator bats got hot and it showed in the box score as the Blazers were outhit by the wide margin of 15-5.

The defense wasn't as sharp either as the Blazers picked up two errors for the game.

The leading batters for the Blazers were Rusty Beam and Josh Grenier who had two hits apiece.

Blazers 5, Chokers 4

The Blazers looked to end the season with a bright note as they played a double header on Sunday May 10, against the Chokers of Grays Harbor and picked up a victory in the first game.

The Blazers came out in the first game looking like it was out of gas as the Choker pitching was dominating the Blazers all game. The fortunes for the Blazers would change once Centralia entered the bottom of the seventh inning.

Centralia added on three runs in the seventh inning and one run in the eighth inning to set up a dramatic finish.

With the game tied up even at 4-4 in the ninth inning, Centralia opened up the inning with a single, a double and a walk to load up the bases with no outs. Josh Grenier stepped up to the plate and delivered the game winning hit with a walk off single.

Rico Melendez would pick up the win for the Blazers.

For the game Centralia out hit the Chokers 6-5.

Blazers 2, Chokers 6

In the Final game of the Season the Blazers could not generate any offense to support a strong pitching performance and fell to the Chokers of a score of 6-2.

Centralia Starter Jacob Conklin would pitch a strong game as he went the whole way for the Blazers with a complete game.

The Blazers would score two runs early but could not generate any more offense as that would be all Centralia would get.

For the game Centralia was outhit by the Chokers 11-4.

This was the final game for Centralia Sophomores Mike Guthrie, Jake Heinricher, Chris Wasson, Rico Melendez, Bryan Beck, Colton Westfall, Nick Decker, Justin Henning and Trevor Harmon.

It was also the Final Game for Head Coach Bruce Pocklington.

For the season Centralia would finish the year 3-22 in league and 4-34 overall.
