The Lewis County Community Band, the Pacific Northwest Chamber Orchestra and various vocal ensembles are performing for free in March.
The community band will perform on Tuesday, March 2. The band will be co-conducted by Louis Blaser and Karl Scarborough. Blaser also plays clarinet in the band, and Scarborough will be heard on the euphonium.
Performance highlights include renditions of "Masque" by W. Francis McBeth, "The Sun-God Ceremony" by Anne McGinty and "Under the Double Eagle" by J.F. Wager and arranged by Andrew Balent.
The orchestra will perform on Monday, March 8. Featured musical selections include pieces composed by Schubert, Beethoven and Respighi. The orchestra's performance season is sponsored in part by the Pro Musica club, along with community members and businesses.
Both events will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Corbet Theater on respective dates, and admission is free.
The Centralia College Vocal Ensembles concert will take place Wednesday, March 17, at 7 p.m. in Harrison Square Presbyterian Church (1227 Harrison Ave., Centralia). The concert is in celebration of St. Patrick's Day and has a Scottish and Irish theme.
Performance pieces include "Grace," a male arrangement of "Amazing Grace," "Rest" and "Weep No More," performed by the female chorus.
