The Centralia Rotary Club and Centralia College Foundation are hosting a Garden Party on April 24 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Centralia Rotary Endowment Scholarship Fund, which provides tuition assistance to Centralia students.

The event will take place on the third floor of the New Science Center, near the George L. and Eugenia R. Moore Memorial Greenhouse.

"People should attend to purchase plants and flowers and gift ideas for Mother's Day," Julie Johnson said, director of donor and alumni relations. "They will have a great time tasting chocolate and supporting Centralia College."

The party is the first event of its kind held at the college, and Johnson said it may become an annual event.

Tickets are $20 and include chocolate tasting, tours of the Greenhouse, attending plant workshops and doing some garden-oriented shopping.

College students will provide musical entertainment throughout the event.

Shopping opportunities for yard art, birdhouses and beekeeping and gardening supplies will be available. Venders present include Lael's Nursery, Larry's Custom Fencing, Sherwood Beekeepers, Pioneer West, Petals and Pods and Chehalis Mints.
