The Blazers split games against South Puget Sound in a wild doubleheader May 1.
Centralia 8, South Puget Sound 9
The Blazers came out of the gates with hot bats scoring five runs in the first two innings.
South Puget Sound scored one run in the second and three in the fifth cutting the Centralia lead 5-4 going into the sixth.
Kim Kerlee gave the Blazers some breathing room with a three run bomb in the home half of the sixth.
Centralia took a four run lead into the final inning but was unable to hold on.
Key errors along with timely hitting by South Puget Sound led to five Clipper runs in the inning.
The Blazers were not able to get a hit in their half of the seventh and lost 9-8.
Amanda Anderson led Centralia with three hits and three runs.
Brandi Cavanaugh reached base on three of her four at-bats and scored a run.
Kerlee went 2-4 with the homerun and three RBIs.
Centralia 8, South Puget Sound 6
The Blazers did not hang their heads because of the game one loss but instead came out fired up.
Centralia jumped on the Clipper pitcher and six of their eight runs in the first two innings.
South Puget Sound put on a late inning charge once again but the Blazers were able to shut it down winning 8-6.
Centralia cut their game one total of five errors to just one in game two.
Kerlee had another big game reaching base in all of her at-bats adding three more RBIs.
Brittany Frank also had a solid game with three hits.
Stephnie Spriggs picked up the win for Centralia.
The Blazers remain one game out of the league lead behind Pierce. Centralia will host makeup games against Green River early this week before ending the season with a doubleheader against Pierce May 8.
