Unemployment rate jumps to 14.8%

Lewis County sees a 1.5% increase

Lewis County suffered another spike in an already dismal unemployment rate, jumping from 13.3 percent in December to 14.8 percent in January, according to the Washington State Department of Employment Security.   

The latest figures, released early Tuesday morning, showed Lewis County jumping a spot to the second-highest unemployment by county across the state, tied with Stevens County.
