After months of fundraising blitzes, workplace campaigns and free will donations, the United Way of Lewis County raised $600,000 — just on par with their goal for the seasonal campaign that began last September.
The money's still trickling in, according to United Way of Lewis County Executive Director Debbie Campbell — and what the organization will do with a chunk of that cash next is the major burning question.
