Centralia downs Lower Columbia to become number one in the West.

For the second year in a row Centralia traveled to Longview to take on the Lower Columbia Red Devils with the NWAACC Western Division number one position on the line and for the second year in a row the Blazers managed to come away with a win.

Going into the game both squads held identical undefeated 3-0 league records but with the 70-67 Centralia is now the only undefeated team remaining in the West.

Lady Blazers take home opener with ease

Centralia’s Lexi Belcher led the Blazers to a dominant 72-51 victory over South Puget Sound Jan. 6 with her third straight 20-plus point performance and ninth straight game in double figures.
 

Blazer ballers start season today in tournament play

The Centralia College Men’s and Women’s basketball teams opened their seasons today. The men came out strong before falling to Clackamas 75-60 while the women defeated Mt. Hood 54-38.

After starting the season winning three of their first nine matches, the Centralia College Lady Blazers did not pick up another win as they lost their last 22 matches finishing the season with a 3-29 record.

It has been a rough start to the season for the Centralia College softball team.
After their first 10 games of the season their record stands at just two wins and eight losses.

College signs new head baseball coach

Centralia College has hired new coach Rick Skinner to lead the men’s baseball program.

“He has connections to the area, he knows baseball, he knows how to coach and he is a good fit for the college," said Bob Peters, athletic director. "He is a great addition to our sports programs."

Baseball season in review

The season for the Centralia College men’s baseball team was mostly a disappointing one with the team finishing with a 3-22 record in league and 4-34 record overall.

Golf

Centralia finishes fifth at the Cardinal Classic

The Lady Blazers golf team traveled to Skagit Valley Sept. 27 to compete in the two-day Cardinal Classic 2009.
Centralia shot a 629 finishing fifth overall in the field of 11 teams including Bellevue, Columbia Basin, Grays Harbor, Green River, Olympic, Skagit Valley, Spokane, SW Oregon, Treasure Valley and Walla Walla.
