May 2 the Blazers hosted a doubleheader against Pierce and split the series.

In the first game Centralia was on the winning end of a close game
winning 2-1 on a walk-off hit by Ryan Knutz.

The Blazers scored one run in the first and last inning of the game
but were held pretty quiet during the other innings.

Tyson Schmitt started on the mound and went eight innings for
Centralia allowing one unearned run while striking out eight batters.

The one run Schmitt allowed came in his last inning of work when the
Blazers catcher attempted to pick off a runner at third base but the
throw went into left field allowing the runner to score and tie the
game at 1-1.

Mike McGuire came into the game to relieve Schmitt and struck out two
of the batters he faced not allowing a hit.

The game ended in the bottom of the ninth when Knutz drove in Taylor
Miller to win 2-1.

Knutz had three hits in four trips to the plate and an RBI.

McGuire got his second win of the season for Centralia.

Schmitt said he felt pretty good after his performance but was a little sore.

In the final game of the weekend unearned runs once again killed the
Blazers.

Centralia held a 4-3 lead after five innings but a three run
sixth for Pierce sealed the deal as the Blazers were only able to
score one run in the final two innings losing 6-5.

Alex Anderson started the game for Centralia and pitched five and two
thirds innings giving up six runs to Pierce.

The trend of the weekend continued however, as only two of the six runs given up were earned. He allowed six hits and struck out five.

Mac Collette had three hits and scored a run for the Blazers.

Knutz had two RBIs on two doubles and scored two runs while Spencer
Weddle had two hits, one RBI and one run.
